A New Procedure Generates New Insights

Based at Hamburg’s NORDAKADEMIE, Professor Scheffer has been researching unconscious motivations on the basis of psychologist Carl Gustav Jung’s typology and personality psychologist Professor Julius Kuhl’s PSI theory since 1996. Built on this work David Scheffer, Bernhard Mikoleit and their team developed the NeuroIPS® method and the visual questionnnaire ViQ®.

A Recognized Methodology

The NeuroIPS® procedure is a sophisticated scientific concept that has captured a strong market position. We have repeatedly demonstrated the effectiveness of our psychographic approach in a series of studies with renowned market research institutes, such as GfK, TNS Infratest and ACNielsen. The NeuroIPS® and ViQ® methods have been extensively researched for more than 15 years and have already been successfully deployed in the healthcare and marketing industries.

Our Method in Brief

NeuroIPS® stands for “Neuropsychological Implicit Personality System”. It uses a purely visual testing procedure (visual questionnaire or ViQ® for short), the method assesses the unconscious inner (implicit) personality structures of the subject.

Depending on how the viewer perceives visual symbols, the ViQ® identifies fundamental behavioral patterns and personality traits. “We are what we see”, and the ViQ® makes use of this phenomenon, as it links these implicit processes via an analysis of our perception to our decision-making and ultimate behavior. The test results classify the subject’s personality to a high degree of accuracy, which then can be used to construct personalized effective interventions.

A Sample Question on Visual Perception

Even if you know that the lines shown are perfectly parallel, you may not see any straight or parallel lines. The degree to which the viewer perceives these lines as slanted depends on their psychological type; in this instance on the extent to which they are introverted or extroverted.

Psychological Characterization with the Visual Questionnaire (ViQ®)

The individual characteristics can be measured using four scales, in which converse character traits and behavioral patterns are opposed.

ViQ® measures the intensity of the characteristics in both directions of the cognitive functions, which normally reveals a clear tendency.

The procedure demonstrates how psychological energy is received (E or I – extroverted or introverted) and what kind of lifestyle is preferred (judgment-oriented [J] or perception-oriented [P]).

A distinction is also drawn between perception through the physiological senses or more intuitive (sensing [S] or intuitive [N]); and between a logical-analytical style versus a subjective and value oriented style (thinking [T] and feeling [F]).

Measurement of the Four Central Characteristics

Easy to Use on Patient Populations

With the NeuroIPS® method, we apply neuropsychological insights derived from the ViQ to the analysis of patient populations and the resulting population segmentation/stratification of certain patient groups. We achieve precise segmentation and quantifiable success.

Categorization of Personality Types with NeuroIPS®

The NeuroIPS® method ascertains personal behavioral patterns. It starts with the differentiation of four key types (ST, SF, NT, NF), and can cover the differentiation of 16 sub-types; it also allows the psychological analysis of an individual or an entire target group.

Comprehension and Long-Term Use of Behavioral Patterns

Our tests will help you to understand how your patients tick. They reveal their unconscious motivations and drivers influencing compliance with applied therapies and services.

Take advantage of the neuropsychological insights stemming from this pioneering MassineBoecker methodology and enhance your population management in several ways:

• Classify patients psychologically and determine communication preferences.

• Reliably connect with patients and significantly boost patient compliance.

• Address patients’ real needs and optimize product and service acceptance.
